US ECOLOGY CENTRAL INTERSTATE COMPACT PROJECT MANAGER

Job Location:  Lincoln, Nebraska			Salary Range:  $75,000 - $85,000

Start Date:  As soon as possible			Reporting to:  Corporate Vice President

Major Job Responsibilities:  On behalf of US Ecology, manage program to
minimize public health risks from commercial low level radioactive waste-by-
products generated in the states of Nebraska, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana,
and Oklahoma. 

· Under contract with the Central Interstate Low-Level Radioactive Waste
Compact Commission, continue work to site, design, license, construct and
operate a facility for the safe containment of commercial low-level
radioactive waste generated in the five member states.
· Work with the host state to obtain necessary permits and license to
construct and operate the facility and assure the facility is constructed and
operated in compliance with all permit and license requirements.
· Keep elected officials and compact representatives from the host state and
other compact member states advised of progress in implementing the compact
law.
· Work with citizens of the host community, the general public, and the media
to help them understand the public health necessity and benefits of properly
containing commercial low-level radioactive waste by-products generated in
their region.
· Work with the compact commission and representatives of the medical
community, universities, research institutions, and industrial and commercial
companies which produce low-level radioactive waste-by-products to enhance
public understanding and support for the safe management of the waste-by-
products in their region.
· Oversee facility design and construction on behalf of US Ecology.
· Oversee project budget and finances.
· Supervise facility manager, health physics manager, senior accountant, and
external affairs manager.
· Oversee all US Ecology staff and offices associated with the Central
Interstate Compact project.
· Manage US Ecology office in Lincoln, Nebraska.
· Keep US Ecology corporate officers advised of activities and developments on
routine basis.

 Qualifications:  Education and experience - consistent with job duties and
knowledge, skills, and abilities described above  -  in nuclear medicine,
nuclear research, nuclear industrial operations, nuclear engineering, nuclear
education, government nuclear programs, or other similar related fields.
