Position Description
Senior Health Physicist / Radiological Engineer
RP&ES Technical Support Group

Description of Duties

The incumbent will be expected to perform, but not be limited to, the
following duties:

Provide radiological engineering/health physics technical support, as
assigned, to station personnel involved in power reactor decommissioning
activities;
Provide radiological engineering/ health physics technical support to the
Radiological and Environmental (RP&ES) Department, as required;
Participate, as required, in the station Emergency Response Organization;
Prepare reports, technical papers, reviews, and computational analyses;
Use software applications, as applicable;
Develop procedures and other instructions;
Review and update, as necessary, RP&ES-related technical basis documents;
Serve as Superintendent of RP&ES Technical Support (as required) in the
absence of the Technical Support Superintendent;
Perform in-situ radiological engineering support to include walk-downs,
field observations, placement of instrumentation, etc.;
Perform departmental self-assessments, as required;
Provide specific training relating to RP&ES technical areas, as required.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor of Science degree in Health Physics, Engineering, Environmental
Science or relevant technical discipline; One year of supervisory
experience; Five years of experience in applied health physics or
radiological engineering disciplines, at least three years of which
encompasses commercial nuclear power generation.

Preferred Additional Requirements

The successful candidate should have strong technical writing skills;
Decommissioning and license termination experience is desirable; should be
fluent with radiological computer applications as well as using computers
for report generation, graphics, and basis database construction.
