Texas Governor Studying Nuclear Waste Dump

Governor Studying Nuclear Waste Dump - (AUSTIN) -- Governor
George -W- Bush faces a tough decision on a proposed
low-level nuclear waste dump for West Texas. Last week, the U-S
House approved a bill to allow transfer of radioactive waste
from Maine and Vermont to a site near Sierra Blanca in Hudspeth
County. The Senate is expected to vote on the issue this week.
Environmental groups are urging the governor to reject the site...
saying it could pose a threat to residents in the sparsely-
populated area.
