Oh I hate to say this, but sometimes the statistics "represent real people"
and sometimes they are manipulated or made up to a point where they don't.
The accusation of callousness is another red herring.  When you say you
doubt the radiation caused the fatal cancer, it is a distortion by your
listener to say (or interpret) that statement to mean that you are callous
and uncaring.  Moreover, the accusation is often made by people who patently
don't care about occupational hazards and exposure, and don't mind saying
so.

Clearly only my own opinion.

My wife told me that he (Baldwin) also appeared on the Montel Williams show
(I think last year sometime).  Talk about a forum that lacks a balanced
opinion.  One word of caution when countering these arguments, do not
forget that these statistics (ill analyzed though they are) do represent
actual people who have undergone suffering.  Many times the alleged
"offender" appears callous or unconcerned when they lash back at the
accuser.  Just my $.02 worth.
