RE: Benchmark for CERCLA comparison -Reply



For an interesting comparison, examine the note by Wood, Kearfoot, et.
al. in the April issue of Health Physics.  Table 2 lists maximum allowable
soil concentrations corresponding to .15 mSv/y, using RESRAD.  As
pointed out in the note, many naturally present isotopes exceed these
levels.  For quick reference, If you desire the units of pCi/g, divide the
Bq/kg value by 37.

Maybe this issue, among possibly others, make the EPA numbers less
likely to be used?
