Re: Radiation martyrs - dial painters included?

April 8, 1999
Davis, CA

There were several radium dial painters who developed radiation-induced
bone cancer on or before the year 1936. In Table 9, pages 84-86 on Bob
Rowland book (RADIUM IN HUMANS, R.E. Rowland, ANL/ER-3, Argonne National
Laboratory, 1994) there are 12 cases listed of bone cancer in radium dial
painters that occurred on or before 1936, even one as early as 1927 after
only 10 years of exposure.
