Industrial Hygiene in the radiation protection

Dear radiosafers

I would like to ask you about the extant of Industrial hygienist involvement
in Medical radiation protection?
 Are their background in the field of Industrial Hygiene include radiation
protection?
What are their role in radiological ventilation system? In the case of
xe-133 ventilation system are they able to do the necessary safety
calculations before releasing it for clinical use such as the clearance time
during the gas spill, concentration of radioactive gas in control and
non-control area during the normal operation,..?
