Simple solution (was Dear Edith and Norm....)

It is not appropriate to throw Edith and Norm off the list; nor to complain
about their postings.

If/when you feel that their msgs are not worth the time, send them to a kill
file (especially when reprising the previous discussions).

For those who DO want to continue to try to explain the science, please put
"Edith" or "Norm" in the subject line. Then others can send those to a
kill-file too, while those who want to engage the discussion as a group,
including Edith and Norm, are free to do so.

(Of course, when there are items of great import, send the msg to the list
without the kill terms :-)

(It is frustrating to send poster msgs to a kill file, but to be bombarded by
those who complain about the waste time. If you don't want to engage or hear
from them, kill their msgs - manually if necessary. But it's not necessary to
send msgs to the list!)

Nobody should feel that they need to drop out. You can control your own
destiny - with a little cooperation from our friends. :-)
