RE: West Wing, et. al.



Jim,

Not to continue this discussion, but there a number of people I know who

work for federal agencies (NRC) who want this program moving so the waste

can be shipped and disposed.  Actually, a number think we should be

recycling spent fuel.  I think it is erroneous of you to think that many in

our government are encouraging fear and looking for job security.  Many of

these issues are political which they have no control over.  Remember, it

was the NRC that tried to enact a de minimis program, which was legislated

out of existence by Congress.

Actually it's more the other way around.



This had the "dodged a bullet" fear factor. A release would have to deal

with 'what effect?' and being vulnerable to a challenge about what would

really happen. You know, the part the fear-mongers  and gov't agencies don't

want addressed!  :-)
