Mg-Th Alloy Production

Radsafers-

I am looking for information on magnesium-thorium alloy production.  I am specifically interested in any data that might be available concerning the state of equilibrium of the Th-232 daughter products in such materials.  I am proposing to assume that, during the process of manufacture (smelting) of the thorium additive, the daughter products would have been effectively removed and that any existing material could be 'dated'  based on the degree of ingrowth.  I would be very interested if anyone has any data on this or other input on the validity of the this assumption.
