Howard,
Since the risk from plutonium is from inhalation and ingestion, what good is the meter that measures external exposure rates?

My alpha-gamma-x counter measured just 0.0002 mrad/minute in the
Livermore Council Chambers. I ask local health physicists to volunteer
through Livermore Dept. Public Works, to similarly scan the yards of
mothers worried that their children might get cancer from eating
plutonium in yard dirt or in home grown tomatoes. I will loan my
instrument. If that does not relieve fears, months of glass etch
counting would detect plutonium or radon alpha radiation and could be
arranged inexpensively.
