I'll follow that lead up around noon.
Thanks again for the direction, wisdom and scientific
insite...
You gotta lighten up, Lou!
As you stepped into a nest of ornery critters, you have to expect some
venom.
;~)
And I guess you have raised the hackles of quite a few by admitting that
your first reaction to dissent on this list was to implement one of those
sleazy "search for all the stuff no one should have a right to know,
but is available through the the internet if you buy this software"
invasion of privacy programs that are touted through junk mail from time
to time.......
.... and then throwing a few slurs out, apparently to show your
"moral superiority"....
While the list-members tried to do a search for your scientific
credentials.......
I was not being particularly venomous. But I have an in-built suspicion
of motives of those who try to link illness to one particular source.
I guess that this is forced on me by the particular litigious aspect of
society on this side of the pond (yes, I am a darn foreigner, working for
a company whose origins are French - enough to have be blackballed by
many..... <G>). And an abysmal inability to accept personal
responsibility which goes hand-in-hand with this....
As for a crock of hamburgers, a serious study of the density of fast food
joints in the Niagara area, combined with the per-capita consumption of
their prime product (results obviously sorted by age, gender and
ethnicity), versus some other geographic areas, might yield some trends
on obesity and/or incidence of heart disease and (some)
cancers......
You did, after all, state "Since I am located in an area with this
elevated rate of illness (not me-thank goodness), I am interested in
finding or eliminating any and all possibilities."
Happy to help direct your valuable research.....
BTW: the opinions I express are my own only. I certainly would not want
to have Schlumberger associated with this particular thread.....
So I will sign off as an private citizen...... and not respond further to
this thread....
