I found this a very interesting document.



In the flow charts in Fig B5 for Transport Accident, Spent Fuel, Fire or 

explosion the recommended evacuation area is 300m or 1000 feet.



This was the largest circle of evacuation in all of the scenarios in that 

table. Obviously this is specifically for non-reactor accidents and the 

fuel quantities are assumed to be lower.



But, one would suspect that the alleged/infamous/hypothetical "dirty bomb" 

would not contain as much high-energy radioactivity as this worst of scenarios.



I was surprised and encouraged by the relatively small radius of evacuation.



We need to "leak" this report to the press!
