Re: 15 or 25 mrem per year?
Regardless of public attitude or opinion, how can it be in the best public
interest to expend limited resources to protect against something that poses
little or no danger? In individuals, such behavior is considered a sign
of mental illness.
Perception may be reality, but only to the perceiver. No matter how
sincerely one believes that 2+2=5, it really doesn't, and it is a poor
policy to base laws and regulations on such beliefs. That is why I resent my
government spending my tax money to protect me against bogeymen, UFO's, or
radiation doses that might exceed 15 or 25 mrem/yr.
