    What's wrong with that? Our radiation protection system is largely based on such a model--

    i.e. LNT. If this approach is good enough for ICRP, BEIR, EPA, etc. etc, why shouldn't it be applied to all problems?

    I think you're trying to apply a simplistic linear model to a more complex problem.  Complex problems often have more than one possible solution.
