Last time I checked it was incumbent upon the employer to
provide all required safety equipment. If safety equipment
is not required, either by the employer or regulatory
agency, and the employee wanted it the employer is not
obligated to provide it. I suppose it would all depend upon
the hospital budget wether or not they were able to provide
extra safety equipment.
