Re: NVLAP/DOELAP
John,
PNL uses Am-241 to deliver dose for the Category IIIB Low-Energy Photons (X
Ray) - Plutonium Environments. This source is used for the Monoenergetic 55
to 65 keV.
Listed in the Department of Energy Standard for the Performance Testing of
Personnel Dosimetry Systems (DOE/EH-0027) are C_x factors for each of the
DOELAP sources. Here is one for X-Ray techniques designed to be at the same
energy.
K-Fluroescence X-ray Techniques Shallow C_x Deep C_x
Energy = 58 keV 1.47
1.54
These numbers appear to be for the X-Ray technique. Give the folks at PNL a
call to find out what they use for Am-241, probably pretty close.
