Radioisotope Dispenser -Reply
Sue,
Our university has two of these dispensers. We purchased them about two years ago and they were in use for about six months. I had a system set up with a representative from our Biology Dept. to manage the inventory of the P-32 in the dispenser. Logistically things went well. The device has a lock out feature that requires a PIN number to dispense the product. I monitored the area where the dispensers were kept and during the time we used them there were no problems with contamination, unathorized use, etc.
Unfortunately, the system did not prove to be economical for the relatively small number of researchers using it and so we went back to the old way of ordering.
Feel free to call me at (404) 651-4318 if you would like to talk about this further. Maybe we can sell you ours at a discount if you're interested :)
