looking for beta corretion factor information

If you use an ionization chamber to determine beta dose rates, how did
you decide on the beta correction factor (BCF) and what BCF value(s) do
you use?  Do you calibrate your own instruments and determine the BCFs
or do you send the instruments to a vendor for calibration?  Thanks in
advance...
