RE: Transport cask testing for HL waste

For anyone who is interested, the WIPP p
project sends the TRUPACT-II around to meetings. TRUPACT-II is pretty
impressive. Anyone who wants to see it, the WIPP home page is
http://www.wipp.carlsbad.nm.us/wipp.htm. You can contact DOE/CAO (Carlsbad
Area Office) through the home page.

It seems reasonable that a PR campaign be organized to put on display
typical HL waste transport casks for the public to "feel" and "touch" with
maybe "cut away" views to dispell the "wet paper grocery bag" concept of
casks transporting HL waste. I think this would satisfy most reasonal
people's fears. The hardcore anti-nuke, however, would never be sold on
them because this is a religion to them.
