Re: Environmentalism & the US Constitution
Unfortunately, the vast majority of the public really believes that
these
environmental laws actually protect them against something harmful . With
few exceptions, the public is scientifically illiterate and incapable of
distiguishing factual information from superstition. Snake oil salesmen and
the environmental movement depend on this for their success.
I don't know if the overthrow of onerous environmental laws would be
impossible, but it would certainly be very difficult. In any case, the
effort to do so might at least result in some degree of public enlightenment
as to the nature of the issues involved..
